Kingdom Hearts II

About the Game

Kingdom Hearts II is the second main entry in the Kingdom Hearts series, developed and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 2. It was first released in Japan on December 22, 2005, followed by North American and European releases in 2006.

The story follows Sora, Donald Duck and Goofy as they continue their search for their friends and King Mickey. The game combines Disney characters and worlds with elements from Square Enix's universe and the Final Fantasy series.

The game's main connection to Greece comes through Olympus Coliseum, a world based on Disney's Hercules. In Kingdom Hearts II, this world is greatly expanded, allowing Sora and his companions to explore the Underworld, the River Styx and the Underdrome.

Here they encounter Hercules, Megara, Phil, Hades and Pegasus, while fighting mythological creatures such as Cerberus, the Hydra and the Titans. Hades serves as the main antagonist of the Greek-themed storyline and attempts to exploit Hercules' exhaustion to defeat him.

Greek mythology extends beyond the characters themselves. Mount Olympus, the Coliseum, the Underworld, Hades and the mythological monsters create an entire world inspired by Greek mythology, presented through Disney's distinctive interpretation.

Gameplay focuses on real-time action combat, with Sora wielding the Keyblade and using various abilities, while characters from the respective Disney worlds can join him in battle. Olympus Coliseum also features several tournaments, including the Pain and Panic, Cerberus, Titan and Hades Cups.
