About the Game

A Clockwork Brain is a puzzle and brain-training game developed and published by the Greek studio Total Eclipse Games. It was first released for iOS in February 2012 and later expanded to additional platforms, including Windows and Android.

The game consists of a collection of short cognitive challenges rather than a conventional adventure or narrative campaign. Its mini-games test different abilities, including memory, visual and spatial perception, logic, arithmetic and language processing. The challenges are designed to be played in short sessions, with difficulty adapting as the player improves.

The initial selection included games such as Scrolling Silhouettes, Anagrams, Missing Tiles and Chase the Numbers, while additional challenges could be unlocked or purchased. The different activities provide considerably different types of mental challenges, ranging from pattern recognition and memory to logical reasoning and language-based puzzles.

Visually, A Clockwork Brain combines Victorian steampunk aesthetics with influences from Mayan art. The hand-painted presentation gives the game a distinctive identity compared with the more clinical appearance commonly associated with brain-training software. Sprocket, the mechanical character from The Clockwork Man, acts as the player's guide and establishes a connection between the two titles.
