About the Game
"1821 – Struggle for Freedom" is a strategy game that challenges the player to lead revolutionary Greece to liberation. As the person responsible for managing and utilizing the nation's limited military and economic resources, you will be called upon to make decisions and take actions that can change history — for better or worse.
The player has many tools at their disposal: armies, fleets, chieftains, admirals, fire ships, regular and emergency income, philhellenes, European aid, and more. Equally numerous are the available options: supplying, training, and recruiting military units, purchasing and building ships, guerrilla warfare and scorched earth tactics, looting, sieges, assaults, etc.
Even so, the player will need to summon their best strategic abilities to succeed. In addition to the overwhelming superiority of the Turks and the lack of resources and funds, they will also be racing against time, as the Great Powers will not tolerate the continuation of the war indefinitely (or even for much longer). And of course, they can never be entirely sure of the loyalty of some of their own chieftains, who may turn their weapons against them and ignite a civil war.
